Brief Overview

The term "managed services" has been used broadly in the IT community. The definition of these services and solutions runs a gamut of examples with key distinctions residing in how the services are delivered and how the customer pays for software licenses and services. The promise of managed services is to deliver a complete solution rather than have the customer acquire software in which it is responsible for building the necessary infrastructure needed to support the application, as well as manage and maintain software that the customer did not develop. In general, managed services include services performed onsite and offsite by software companies that the customer would traditionally perform on its own.
